Therapy Towards A More Liberated and Authentic Sense of Self

Welcome, I work with queer, trans, bipoc, neurodivergent and chronically ill folks in the Seattle area to help process traumatic experiences and to move towards a greater sense of authenticity, agency and relational well-being.

What could a more liberated you look like?

Do you feel lonely and unsatisfied in your relationships? Are you sometimes unsure of how, or even why, to get out of bed? Have you struggled to get your needs met, or to build a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, and values-aligned? Or to feel worthy and deserving of those things?

Do you struggle with how the systems we're a part of (institutional, societal, familial, etc.) contribute to these feelings of alienation, dissatisfaction, and despair, but feel unable or unaware of how to combat them? This is the place for you.

I work with clients who know what it’s like to feel alienated and marginalized by these systems: queer, nonbinary, trans and BIPOC folks, activists, organizers, artists and creatives and those living with disability, neurodivergence and chronic illness. Often, I also work with those who’ve found that past therapies have given them just enough to get by, but not enough to bring about the actual change they’d like to see. In my practice we work to unearth what’s been missing, whether it be an ability to see the larger systems at play in one’s life, and/or how we may have internalized patterns that lead us to unintentionally collude with them.

How can therapy help?

Starting therapy is a courageous step. In our work together I will join you as someone who has experienced many of the struggles of trying to survive on the margins firsthand. Using my personal and professional experience, I’ll help you gain a heightened capacity for reflection and self-awareness.

When we are more conscious of our internal landscape and external circumstances we’re much better equipped to face the challenges holding us back, able to not only envision a more authentic and fulfilling life, but also advocate for it in relationships, the workplace, and within other institutions. I look forward to connecting with you to explore how we can help you move towards a better relationship with yourself and others, and a greater sustained capacity to meet life’s challenges.

‍ queer not as being about who you’re having sex with–that can be a dimension of it–but queer as being about the self that is at odds with everything around it and has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live. – bell hooks
